The Disabled
The Elderly
Freja is the world’s only hygiene assistant for home use. A groundbreaking innovation that helps disabled and frail elderly people to take care of their personal hygiene on their own. Freja is developed by the same team of experts that created Poseidon, the first hygiene assistant in the world, which today is used in both healthcare and care of the elderly. The product development of the hygiene assistant Freja has been funded by EIT Digital/EU.
FREJA – another victory for privacy
For people with disabilities, personal and intimate hygiene
can be a major concern. In addition, being forced to get help from others can contribute to insecurity and be perceived as
an invasion of privacy.
Freja is an automated hygiene assistant that is created for one thing: To give disabled and frail elderly people new opportunities to take care of their personal hygiene on their own where they feel safest – at home.
Freja is a further development of the hygiene assistant Poseidon, which has attracted a lot of attention internationally and is well tested in professional care environments. Together, Freja and Poseidon form a unique concept for automated shower and spa solutions that improve the quality of life for those most in need. Of course, Freja can be connected digitally for remote monitoring.
FREJA – promotes safety and quality of life
Up to 40 percent of falls at home take place in the bathroom, and the risk of accidents and injuries is also high for relatives and home help staff who often need to help. Thanks to Freja, the
risk of slipping on wet floors can be minimised, as well as back and neck injuries due to heavy lifting. Significantly improving independence and physical safety at home is an important step towards improved quality of life, where the shower experience is also a welcome pleasure instead of a concern.
FREJA – contributes to a sustainable and equal society
The proportion of older people in society is steadily increasing and there are both human and economic incentives for creating better conditions for safe care at home. The Freja concept meets these needs and also contributes environmentally by ensuring that water and energy are used in a more controlled way. Add to that the possibility of integrating Freja into a digital system for remote care and we get an equation where everyone wins – from the individual and their relatives to home help services and the responsible authorities. As a concept, Freja builds on a transparent business model with leases that also include installation, operation and maintenance. The customer does not have to tie up capital in equipment, and it is easy to budget and perform cost control.
