How Freja works

Freja is designed to provide the best possible user safety, combined with excellent ergonomics and comfort.
Here is a summary of the most important features.

Stable and safe lifting in and out

The ergonomic chair is controlled using advanced software, sensors and motors. The chair is pushed out and lowered just enough so that the user can sit down properly. The seat cushion is in two parts and the comfortable backrest is high enough to provide support and comfort. The footrest is designed so that a walking frame and wheelchair can get close. The chair is lifted into the shower area with a soft and controlled movement, without the user having to tread on a wet and slippery floor. As a result, Freja helps to significantly lower the risk of falls in bathrooms and shower rooms.

Safe and comfortable shower environment

The shower area is designed to make the user feel safe and relaxed, while preserving privacy and self-respect. The environment is enveloping yet airy, and the curved plexiglass is frosted for privacy. The hygiene assistant’s relatively low overall height and compact dimensions make it fit easily into the bathroom and aid communication with relatives.

Easy and safe to use

With Freja, users can wash almost their entire body – chest, torso, legs and genital area. The shower is started using the flexible control panel mounted on one armrest. Using clear and simple buttons, you can then control the temperature, the area of the body being showered and the semi-automatic soap system.

Shower jets are distributed separately by seven shower nozzles and there is also a hand shower and an overhead shower. Preheated water and soft start provide increased shower comfort. The temperature range is limited for safety reasons and on the outside there is an additional control panel for assistance. The washing concept is developed in collaboration with clinical staff from gynaecology and geriatric units.

Remote monitoring

Freja offers a digital interface for monitoring and transmitting data in real time through the mobile network. The interface is cross-platform and can be integrated with the relevant healthcare provider’s system for digitised care in the home.

Meets strict hygiene requirements

Design and material choice meet the stringent hygiene and environmental requirements in healthcare. The mechanisms are thoroughly encapsulated and the clean, even surfaces facilitate cleaning and ensure clean surfaces. The materials consist mainly of stainless steel and non-toxic composite materials (fiber-glass).
